Dr HR Nagendra is the Vice Chancellor of SVYASA Yoga University. He has been the guiding force behind the VYASA movement.
After receiving his doctorate in 1968, he served as faculty of IISc in Department of Mechanical Engineering.

He then went to Canada as Post Doctoral Research Fellow in the University of British Columbia, Canada in 1970. From there, he moved to NASA Marshall Space Flight Centre, USA as Post-Doctoral Research Associate in 1971 and moved to Engineering Science Laboratory, Harvard University, USA as a Consultant in 1972. He served as Visiting Staff at Imperial College of Science and Technology, London later.

In 1975, he joined Vivekananda Kendra, a service mission, as a whole-time worker.
From 1986 to the present, he is the Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra Yoga Research Foundation, Bangalore and the Director of Indian Yoga Institute, Prashanti Kutiram.

From 2000 to the present, he has been serving as President, Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana, Bangalore and from 2002 to present, he serves as the Vice Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana, the Yoga University in Bangalore. He has published 30 Research Papers in Engineering and more than 60 papers on Yoga. He has authored and coauthored 35 books on Yoga.

Dr Ananda is Chairman of the International Centre for Yoga Education and Research at Ananda Ashram, Pondicherry, India (www.icyer.com).

He is also chairman of Yoganjali Natyalayam, the premier institute of Yoga and Carnatic Music and Bharatanatyam in Pondicherry (www.rishiculture.org).

He is son and successor of the internationally acclaimed Yoga team of Yogamaharishi Dr. Swami Gitananda Giri Guru Maharaj and Yogacharini Kalaimamani Ammaji, Smt Meenakshi Devi Bhavanani. He is a Gold Medalist in Medical Studies (MBBS) with postgraduate diplomas in Family Health (PGDFH) and Yoga (PGDY) as well as Advanced Diploma in Yoga under his illustrious parents in 1991-93.

He has authored 19 DVDs and 21 books on Yoga as well as published more than two hundred papers, compilations and abstracts on Yoga and Yoga research in National and International Journals. He is a Classical Indian Vocalist, Percussionist, Music Composer and Choreographer of Indian Classical Dance in addition to his duties as Deputy Director of the Centre for Yoga Therapy Education and Research (CYTER), MGMCRI, Pondicherry.

He is an Honorary International Advisor to the IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists), USA and various Gitananda Yoga Associations all over the world.

His Internal Master is the Parama Mahá Guru – Lord Shiva, whom he serves and to whom he has devoted his whole life, and everything that he does, he places at his feet.
He is also a fervent adept of the Mahá Shakti, and of her messages of Ahimsá, respect for Life and World Peace.
In the beginning of the 80’s, he wrote his first book “Chakra Sútra – the 7 Main Chakra in Yoga”, and “Sámkhya, Cosmogenesis and Yoga – Beyond Hydrogen”.
He is currently writing a grand Encyclopaedia of Traditional Yoga.

Shri Om Prakash Tiwari is a student of Swami Kuvalyananda, one of the few masters teaching pranayama practice with a classical technique, where the scientific outlook harmonizes with traditional wisdom.

He is humble man who does not try to prove anything, but with integrity sincerely passes on the through and practice of Yoga in the traditional way. He has also served on several government committees, working to bring Yoga into the education and health system of India.

As a selfless servant of humanity, he travels internationally passing on the practices, philosophy, and scientific understanding of yoga to students in every part of the world.

This devoted yogi lives a life dedicated to continuous practice, and his teachings flow from his deepest experiences in an undiluted way.
He is the Secretary General of the Kaivalyadhama Institute.

Dr. Narayanan is one of the founders and inspiration behind the formation of Life in Yoga Institute and Foundation.
He has developed the Life in Yoga 5 by 3 by 1 Approach, and the techniques of CRE breath, Dance Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Chandogya Upanishad Meditation and several mudras like the AtmaVyakta Mudra, BrahmaVyakta Mudra, etc. He has also translated and written a commentary on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. He has studied Yoga techniques from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Institute, Satchidananda Ashram of Yogaville (Virginia), and Swami Bua of New York. He is also a Reiki master and Pranic Healer and has been trained by Dr. Vasantha Krishnaswamy of Chennai, India.

In December 2009, SVYASA honored him for his innovative and original contributions in the field of yoga. In November 2010, a community service organization, HACSI, in the Washington DC area awarded him the Community Service Award for imparting the knowledge of yoga and establishing a network of classes in the Washington area.
His current area of research is in the area of measurement of Naadis of yoga using EAV instruments.

Smt. Hansaji Jayadeva Yogendra is the wife of Dr. Jayadeva Yogendra and daughter-in-law of Shri Yogendra, the Founder of The Yoga Institute. Hansaji, as she is fondly known, is the Director of The Yoga Institute. After her marriage to the President of The Yoga Institute, Dr.Jayadeva Yogendra, she was instrumental in making radical changes in the work done by the Institute.

Her emphasis on spreading Yoga education to impact the lives of women led to the expansion of the Ladies Wing, more special classes for women, Pregnancy, Pre-natal and Post-natal camps, and the Menopause Women’s Camp. Hansaji’s teaching pays special attention to Isvarapraridhana (surrender to the will of God), which allows the individual to carry on regardless, even when complete understanding of events is not available.

Hansaji has headed research efforts in the following areas that have been published in various forms: Reversal of Heart Disease, treatment of Asthma, Diabetes, and Orthopedic Disorders. Currently she is involved in research of Stress Management though Yoga for Mothers of Children Appearing for Competitive Exams’. She is also involved with the National Council for Education Research and Training together with Dr. Jayadeva to advise on formulating a Yoga education syllabus for schools nationwide. She has authored several print media and audio-visual publications, and also serves as the Yoga expert in the popular television series ‘Yoga for Better Living’.

Swami Veda Bharati, Disciple of Swami Rama of the Himalayas, Founder and Spiritual Guide of the Association of Himalayan Yoga Meditation Societies International (AHYMSIN) is an internationally acclaimed authority on the Yoga Sutras. He guides yoga and meditation groups in 30 countries from all continents. It is not unusual for him to settle up to a hundred thousand meditators into meditation within a few minutes. He has access to 17 languages with varying degrees of fluency. He leads students into a meditative avenue in their own languages.
He acquired his academic degrees [B.A. (Honors) (London), M.A. (London), Dr.Litt. (Holland), F.R.A.S.] in merely two years (1965-1967). Never having been taught in formal schooling, his knowledge has come intuitively.He held the post of Sanskrit Professor at the University of Minnesota, USA, and in 1969, was awarded the Distinguished Teacher Award. As a research guide, he has guided many scholars in their research in numerous fields. He serves now as Chancellor of HIHT University Dehradun, India.
In late 1981, he was appointed as the head of the Swami Rama’s Ashram, Sadhana Mandir, his guru’s seat, in Rishikesh, India. Since his master’s maha-samadhi in November 1996, he has continued to touch the hearts and minds of thousands of aspirants by leading them into deep meditation. In 2002, he founded Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama in Rishikesh, which houses the headquarters of the Association of Himalayan Yoga Meditation Societies International (AHYMSIN) and serves as a centre for his global network, as well as Swami Rama Dhyana Gurukulam, also known as Swami Rama Institute of Meditation and Interfaith Studies, under the auspices of Dhyana Mandiram Trust.
Before formally taking up monkhood in 1992, Swami Veda Bharati was known as Pandit Usharbudh Arya.
In recent years he has been deeply involved in the study of the neurophysiology of meditative states in a number of highly recognized research laboratories in several continents. He has demonstrated his capability for changing brain wave patterns in various meditative states as well as the power of the mind over external matter, for example, through his concentration making a random numbers producing machine produce coherent numbers. Such experiments have taken place in laboratories such as those at the Institute of Noetic Sciences (founded by the astronaut Edgar Mitchel) in California and at Bremen University in Germany.
